Understand your points#

SideQuest tracks two kinds of points: Renown, for showing up, and SQL, for who wins loot.

Renown#

Renown is for the Hall of Heroes. You earn it by coming to events: a raid is worth the most, then dungeons, then leveling and PvP. It unlocks badges and shows how active you’ve been this season, this month, and all time.

Note

In the API and the code, Renown is still called ep. On the site and in this guide, “Renown” is the word members see.

SQL loot points#

SQL (SideQuest Loot, said “squeel”) decides who wins loot in a raid. It has two parts:

  • EP (effort points): you earn these for raiding. You get points for a boss kill, for the raid’s first wipe on a boss it hasn’t killed yet, for being there at the start, and for staying to the end. Standby earns the same as being in the raid.

  • GP (gear points): you spend these when you win an item. Everyone starts at 100 GP.

Your PR (priority) is your EP divided by your GP. When several people want an item for their main spec, the highest PR wins it. Both EP and GP shrink a little each week, so recent raids count for more than old ones.

Note

The full rules and current prices are on the ledger page. The raids page explains how a raid night runs, including bidding.

Read your PR#

  1. Go to the ledger page or open the addon’s Ledger tab.

  2. Find your character.

  3. Check your EP, GP and PR, and your recent points history and loot.

A higher PR means you’re more likely to win an item you bid on for your main spec.
