The officers’ code#

Officers hold more trust than other members: the Approve button, the roster, attendance, and loot decisions. This code sets how to use that trust. It does not replace the guild rules or the code of conduct; it adds to them.

  1. Be kind, and do not be a jerk. Officers set the tone for the guild.

  2. Listen to all sides before you decide. A decision made on one side of a story is often the wrong one.

  3. Treat friends the same as everyone else. No favoritism, in loot, recruiting or moderation.

  4. Decide in the open, and give reasons. Members trust a ruling they can see and understand.

  5. Keep private things private. DMs, reports and member notes stay between officers who need them.

  6. Step out of decisions about yourself or close friends. This includes loot council when you want the item yourself, as the SQL rules already require.

  7. Own your mistakes, and undo them. Everyone gets a decision wrong sometimes. Fix it.

  8. Do not use officer tools for a personal dispute. The roster, attendance and moderation tools are for the guild, not for settling an argument.

  9. Ask another officer when you are unsure. A second opinion costs nothing.

  10. Know the guild rules yourself, first. You cannot enforce what you have not read.

If a member has a problem with an officer#

A member can message any Quest Master directly on Discord. If the problem involves that Quest Master, the member should message a different one.
